I'm breaking up with my BF tomorrow. Which words would be less painful for man to hear?

CaptainCanadia · 41-45, M
ALL of the words will be painful. There is no way to break up with someone that doesn't hurt.

And break up with him the way you would want someone to break up with you. Be honest and be kind.

You have the best words.

just broke up with a good guy. damn it hurts!

@AmataBene: I'm sorry. Depression is such a hard battle to fight. It takes energy and when you're depressed, energy is in very short supply.

@Serenitree: it feels like i'm killing already wounded

@AmataBene: Get over it. You can't fix what's wrong, only he can do that, and first he has to want to fix it badly enough to seek the help he needs to fight it.
You said you have kids and parents. They need to be your priorities. He can only tear you down.

Me & my gf just broke up on Super Bowl Sunday ... We had a blowup but we remain friends & in communication.... I know had she said out her mouth "I don't want to be with you" or "it's not you it's me" or even "I think we should be friends" that would have broken me but fuck it, if he's mature enough he would rather that you break up with him instead of him being with someone that doesn't feel the same no matter how much it hurts..... best of luck to both of you

Telling directly would be least painful.

words of honesty and compassion

I swear, it's not me, it's you. Then you break down giggling, but hide your face, because giggles often sound like crying, but it doesn't look the same.

Or you could just say, I'm sorry, this isn't working anymore.

"It's over, don't be a little bitch about it" but if he's man enough he won't let you leave.

We'll both be better off with someone else that's more compatible

If you cant dedicate in the relation, better to break it. May he handles the breakup properly.
