How do you manage a relationship where one of the two does not like animals?

It is hard for me to comprehend a life without pets. I absolutely love them -especially dogs. Anyone manage to be in a relationship where one or the other is completely oppose to pets and dont really like them?

Well at the end of the day you either deal with it, make them deal with you getting a pet anyways, or break up. Whichever seems the least damaging. I think not having a pet should have favor over having one though becsuse pets cost time and money for both parties

it can be heart-breaking when you get a pet and can't afford the medical treatment like a surgery when they need it...gotta think of those things as well as any lifestyle changes.

I agree it is a compromise. For some people having pets around then is a necessicity to function well and that makes it particular difficult then if the other party does not want to compromise.
