Do you think it's a bad idea to be in a relationship your freshman year of college?

I've heard pros and cons about this...so far mine is working out
As long as you get good grades but if you can't handle the added distraction it's not a good idea.

@kekobaka: We were just friends at the beginning of the year, but I grew to really love him. He's been there for me and really helped me out
@KatieB: I understand that, you think youl get unfocused from your schoolwork?

@kekobaka: not at all
A bad idea would be prostitution and a meth habit...

A lot of students get into a relationship for security and when they graduate they break up because they don't need them for security, that can be kind of heartbreaking.

Many of my friends are in relationships, most long distance actually, and they're working out fine. I feel like there's no issue with it.

Depends on how mature the person is and if they can stay focused on their classes to be successful in college while being in a relationship .
As long as it doesn't interfere with your schoolwork and getting your degree. Or as my mother told me, "You're not there to get your 'Mrs.' !" 😉
