How do you feel about artificially created intimacy?

Would it be ethical to use artificial intelligence to create a synthetic "perfect partner" that can fulfill your emotional and psychological needs without having true consciousness? What might be the long-term consequences for human relationships?

For an ageing population supported by a diminishing number of working age people, I think it could be very valuable. Robots with human features are already used with positive results to reduce loneliness among older people.
