Is it toxic when my partner threatens to k themselves if i leave them?

Genuine question. I never gave it a second thought until someone told me off that it was toxic behavior. I feel bad trhing to label them as toxic when yhey havent done bad things to me. Or maybe they did and it just went over my head.
