Friends are the people you shared a magical moment with. You just can't easily consider someone a [b][i]friend[/i][/b] just because you laughed together in History class.
I think you can. The strength of the friendship is dependent on the strength of what connects you to your friend so it can be weak and hence a short lived friendship but a friendship nonetheless
