My Girlfriend Said I'm Not Manly

I saw an interesting post on another forum, I've copied and pasted it below. What would you guys do if your woman called you unmanly?

"The other day, my girlfriend said, "you're not exactly a fully grown man," and I'm not sure how to take it. She also said that my friends who are the same age as me are men and refering I wasn't. I think she meant it in both ways, as face value and that I am skinny and not bulky or tall.

I don't care what others have to say but when it comes from my girlfriend I do care and to be honest with you it did hurt a bit because I always thought she saw me as a man or a bit manly. I know I don't compare to the hollywood movie male models but I don't act like a girl or do girly stuff and I like the same things as my mates.

Also a note to add - why did she think my friends are 'men' but I'm not. Without sounding harsh, ones about the same height as me but fat and my other mate is alittle bigger than me and taller. Also she mentioned that my other mate could beat me in a fight so that could be another reason. (obviously, we have no beef or want to fight, we get on well)."

What are your thoughts?

I would say to him: This GIRL is nothing to mess with. She is clearly immature and emotionally unavailable. Take note of the red flag. Dump!!! Go with someone that will appreciate you for who you are. You don't deserve to be treated like this. No one does. If she acts like this now, I would hate to think what she acts like if you were married to her. I think you'll be sorry later if you don't get this toxic egotistic woman out of your life.
So you are posting someone else's post from a different forum, this isn't about you.

Not sure what is the point of this tbh

@AbsolutelyFabulous It's called discussion. I found the topic interesting and wanted to hear other people's opinions since it's an unusual subject. Do you prefer that no one posts in this forum because you dislike hearing others' thoughts?

I've noticed that your posts aren't particularly focused on discussion or thought-sharing, which is fine. However, please don't complain about me trying to start a conversation.
I think you should sit down with your gf and ask her to discuss this. If she is your partner, you should know why she says such things. We do not know either of you. We are not mind readers. I would feel disrespected and insulted if I were you. Communication is essential in relationships. Learn this early. Then tell us what happened. Good luck.

@PoetryNEmotion Love your reply, great answer this should be a Best Comment if I could pick it

@Dignaga No. Incorrect. Your jaded views are yours alone. Now run along and play elsewhere.

The only thing I can think of is she might think you're not as mature as them? But I dont know.🤷🏼‍♀
@Blondily I'm thinking Peter Pan Syndrome, that he'd rather hang with his friends and game or joke around than spend time with her.

@NativePortlander1970 Sounds about right!

I feel for the guy who originally posted this; his GF has hooked up with somebody who will take her for who she is and now tells him he's not as good as his friends. Now she is in a relationship she feels comfortable to try and improve her lot; relationships aren't jobs or hobbies where you're hoping to do/get better all the time, they involve another being who can be hurt.

If you skip the Alpha males and Instagram females, you’ve still got a good 95% of the population remaining.

Stop worrying. Pull your weight.
I have to agree this girl.........if her BF is anything like 85% of most guys now. No idea how to talk face to face to anyone.........life is gaming........living at home until they reach 50. Thinking they are always owed something. No idea why they were born with balls. A lot don't even drive or want too. No goals. Think dating is texting. EVERYTHING is a trauma. No idea what sex they are so they pick one cool sounding one out of 2700 different names of genders. Guys aren't guys anymore.

And can I know which forum as SW is boring and saturated..

And for my thoughts, I have to know how the girl chose him to be her guy as traits of unmanliness could have been there. So I doubt that the guy would have pestered her by stalking and she would have accepted her for convenience and she would have found him to be a wimp and just doing anything to retain her relationship.

Most girls don't like such wimps ..

So she stays with you just to put you down? WTF
Better question: Why do you stay with her?
Hahahahahaha... Poor guy...

He doesn't seem to have any control in relationship
Ofcourse he doesn't know she's fkin his friends
No self respect
Given too much attention to her

There's no going back, she'll keep on doing that and make you feel bad.

Looks don't matter at all, it's your control, that matters

Then quit wearing skinny jeans and manscaping. Trade in your Prius and buy a real car. And quit threatening people with speed dial by a shotgun
Sooo uh.. does she think less of you and fancy your manly friends or is she just totally thoughtless and insultingly condescending or does she like lil boys? 😳

She just means, "you just don't come up to my expectations of my man".
Sounds like a little guy in the briefs to me.
Pay very close attention to the lyrics

@SteelHands Thats an interesting thought. A unique one no-one else would say

@BringTheLove If political correctness has to die then let it be a quick and painless one. Nobody good likes to torture even the worst ignorance.

It was socialists who, all were ignorant ones, who devised political correctness. It was thought that by doing so they might stem the gigantic purges and betrayals that led to the death of so many millions.

Even Kruschev lost his faith before he died. Fortunately like political correctness itself, he was spared the worst of that communist agony.

Its now 2024. I wonder what the hermit in the castle (JS) outside lenningrade would say if he could see America and the world today without his greed, avarice and cynicism. He probably would be playing call of duty eating doritos and getting fatter by the day. Lol

Anyway, food for thought. That's all.

Have a good one. Gotta go now.
