Have you ever bought a drink at the bar for a stranger you found attractive?

I don't go to bars, etc. or go out looking for people to hook up with in general.

Apart from pubs I never go out to do adult socialising but I've not been confident enough to every approach anyone I've seen out and about to ask them out and/or buy a drink and/or meal.
