How come it seems all the assholes end up in happy relationships?

And the decent people who've been screwed over by them end up alone

First of all, sorry you are experiencing this. Secondly, things may look rosy for them now, but someday --- SOMEDAY --- they will be handed a lesson that makes them think about how they treated you. And they will eat crow.

@Adelh91: if you're talking about here on SW, that shit happens all the time. If you are talking IRL, then that is doubly sad, but thankfully doesn't happen quite as often. Feelings are still feelings though no matter where it happens. :(

@Ambroseguy80: in real life. He led me on made me think we could have a future then basically told me I'm a "nice person" but a relationship for him will happen when it happens, he's happy being on his own, and he doesn't want to be with anyone.
All this after I started opening up to him

@Adelh91: I'm sorry sweetheart. I know he was wrong to lead you down a road he decided to turn off into a parking lot from! But maybe he is right about himself (let's just HOPE he really thought things through after starting things up with you). Perhaps it's for the best it went nowhere with someone so wish-washy?!? Hard to see sometimes, but chalk it up to experience and learn from it. I've seen your pic and you should have no problem at all finding someone better for yourself! Meanwhile take your time. Get over the deep hurt first. Then think about how much better off you are without him. 😘

Don't know, maybe they are more impulsive and sociable? When I was a teenager, I remember the people who picked on me tended to have many relationships due to them just being more social in general thus they meet more people. That's just what I think though.🤔 I wouldn't be bothered by it though, I would rather be kind and have no relationships than to hurt others. :)
I was just wondering the same. The guy who treated me cruelly and broke my heart (along with many, many others before me), is now engaged and bopping along in life as if he is so perfect and did no wrong. What the hell?

Do not worry. They will get their comeuppance some day. It might take years, but they will. Believe that.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
It's like nothing touches them. I think they're psychopaths, they can just turn their feelings off and on whenever and for whoever they please
Normanwestie · 61-69, M
I agree it does seem to end up that way

Everything is fair in love and war.🙂

Not sure I believe that's true. I was in a really happy and amazing relationship for close to 10 years before it went south, and I'm a lot of things, but not an asshole. Yo, shouldn't you be typing "arsehole"?😋 Don't pander us Yanks. hehe We're not WORTHY.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
It doesn't apply I everyone obviously but it just makes me so pissed off. They don't deserve happiness, not in that aspect of their life anyway
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Yo comprendo.

I learned that part of the game of life the hard way , It's like the song says , If you want to get rich you got to be a bitch .

Everyone has different definitions of assholes and in reality, it is immaterial. Maybe "assholes" are living the life as it should and other people are just jealous of them and hence, call them assholes.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
Someone who leads another person on willingly for months/years under false pretences is a selfish inconsiderate asshole. No one will change my mind about that
Transformedandevolved · 26-30, M
@Adelh91: They used that other person to become happy. It's very logical that they ended up being happy because they did everything they could to be happy while the other person who was led on didn't ensure that their situation will lead to happiness so they couldn't end up being happy. Makes sense.

It's women fault where I live women never ever give sex until the man proposes to them so he has no choice except to stay with one woman and marry her or else he has to go to a prostitute and get Hiv, so basically women has the power but if you give the milk to the man why would he buy you ?why would a man buy a cow if he can have the milk for free ?you can control your sexual drive but they cant which give you the power if he's an asshole he will just leave but if he's an honest good man he will respect u and put a ring on ur finger
BrakeIT · 61-69, M
It doesn't take much to make an asshole happy.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
They don't deserve it after trampling so many people down on the way there. Fuck them
BrakeIT · 61-69, M
@Adelh91: My point was that what you're saying is "happy" for them probably sucks.
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
@LimpBiskit: I really hope so
SW-User
Sorry, I never realised I was an asshole till now 😟
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
Not everyone obviously, but it seems that's the way things go
SW-User
@Adelh91: phew, well that's a relief, but maybe I should reassess my assholeness just to make sure.
SW-User
there are a lot more assholes than decent people!
AliceMortem · 31-35, F
They say karma's a bitch. Doesn't seem like it sometimes
SW-User
@Adelh91: sure doesn't ! apparently it only works when you have real feelings!
