Am I being irrational for being kinda upset?

My bf the other day was like 'you should do more hairstyles' and I was like 'yeah it's kinda hard because my hairs so long'. Anyway today he sent me a picture of this girl on Instagram and was like 'I like this hairstyle. See how it's like kind of wild and crazy?'. Then I was saying its layered and my hairs silky so it's hard to do. Then he said 'I don't know what layered is but I wonder how your hair would look if you layered it pretty'. I'm really hurt lol, am I being a sensitive little girl?😷

I think you are being a bit sensitive, but I also think that some girls tend to take more pride in their hair (I never thought I did until part of my hair had to be shaved for surgery and I cried like a baby because it was so upsetting) so I could see why you'd feel hurt that he doesn't like your hair the way it is.
