Of course! One of my best friends is a girl :)

SW-User
Yes, I’ve always got on better with guys. It always annoys me when people assume there’s more going on just because they don’t understand platonic friendships

SW-User
Complicated if there's attraction. From both sides.
If not yes indeed.

LadyJ · F
Yes..but if theres an attraction there it can get tricky

SW-User
Yes. 100% hard stop.
Yes... sometimes feelings flare up but getting past those are the point of friendship. You have to realize the value of the friendship.

GunFinger · F
Of course, but I'm the same with you. Can't maintain that level of connection sometimes because it eventually goes up to the next one.
GunFinger · F
This usually happens when I'm attracted to the man, obviously.😊
SunshineBlues · 22-25, F
@GunFinger its unfortunate . But at least we're aware of what works for us.

Id say 3 of my best friends are female. Two, whilst attractive, I don't think I was attracted to and probably vice versa. One actually suggested we got together to see what it was like and like an idiot I said best not, might not be good for the friendship. Good decision I think.
My oldest friend I met in a nightclub when I was 16. I was attracted to her, but one sided, and apart from one or two kisses in the past we are well in the friend zone now. It's good
It can work provided you accept a friend status. And provided one doesn't take advantage of the others feelings

Nah I can never 100% buy it, I think someone is in denial or have repressed feelings or one of them is really unattractive, lol. Or, the situation hasn't presented itself yet.
Yes... I generally find it easier to get on better with men over women - but, that doesn't mean that I would go jumping into bed with any of them any more than I'd jump into bed with any of my female friends.
summersong · F
Most of my friends are guys so yeah 🤷♀️
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
Yes absolutely. But not with every man or woman. I had 2 guys I was BFFS that were like brothers to me in high school. I ended up dating one. The other I never did and never could.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Absolutely. I have women friends dating back to the 80s. Now, it's not that they are unattractive--a few are drop-dead gorgeous--but that's beside the point. There's something about that female energy that I seek out, and not because I am simping. If I have a problem, I call them, maybe meet them for a meal or drinks...and I will GET the real answer. It may not be the one I want to hear, but there is nothing like a woman's take on something.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
Yes I believe so. You can like a person but there isn't always a spark for more. So many variables there as well.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 31-35, M
People say they can't, but I don't agree. I have mostly been just friends with women.
TexChik · F
as long as one of them can maintain a platonic stance then yes they can be friends.

SW-User
Yes but it's not always easy and doesn't always work out
Of course. I have always had more male friends. They’re cool n friendly.
PassingThrough · 46-50, M
I’ve been able to be friends without trouble.

SW-User
Yes absolutely. I'm much more my randy self with female friends than I am with men. They are at ease with me then they show me they can be almost as randy
PiecingBabyFaceTogether · 31-35, M
Totally yes. My first best friend was a girl
PatKirby · M
Absolutely. Until you're not.
helenS · 36-40, F
All my friends are male, so I have to answer in the affirmative I guess. 😏
666Maggotz · F
I find it very easy but men really don’t catch my interest.I prefer dating women.
CookieCrumbs · F
Yes.
Bleak · 36-40, F
At some point, no.
And even if you are “just good friends”, that mere attraction which remains silent for some time turns out to be some feeling that can’t be subsided effortlessly.

Not if a man wants a taste of the muffin, just saying.

SW-User
That’s kind of 🤦🏻♀️@checkoutanytime
checkoutanytime · 41-45, M
@SW-User I suppose it depends on the guy.

SW-User
No, us boys are always trying to smash.
ABCDEF7 · M
Make them your sworn in brother/sister. Then you are likely to develop different feelings for them.

Possible if both are not physically attracted to each other
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
Ya but there’s always a fine line.
DarkCrazyArtistGeekGamer · 31-35, F
They most certainly can.
knight8in8 · 46-50, M
Sure men and women can be just friends, and any of them can be naked and spend a nice time without getting sexually involved.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Certainly.
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
