How long until you knew that your partner was "the one?

Having one person be "the one" is too much burden for any person and leads to eventual unhappiness when they can't live up to the unrealistic standard.

I agree, which makes me wonder if "the one" exists? For some, maybe if a couple are stable in their own identity that there would be no need to want to be with another person....What I mean is since we all evolve, the person you're with now isn't necessarily the person that fits into your life later, any there are other factors, too....
