Why would someone try to set their ex up on a date?

Depends on the context. Some former couples figure out they suck as a couple but are good friends and so things like that are not that strange. That being said I never liked being setup on a date with anyone.

Guilt! For sure, plus wanting the ex to move on happily and not feel as if only ONE human being on earth can bring joy to life, and avoid stalking
