Wolves (III)

Teeth likes knives and eyes like swords
Piercing gaze that blazes through hearts
Peering into soul to touch one's character
And feeling the cuts of a thousand words

Thick, matted fur and thicker skin
That protects from cuts and lets nothing in
Sharp, harsh claws that tear flesh from bone
Somehow just as painful when left all alone

A warm, loving embracing unrivaled by others
That hides such darkness and violence towards only lovers
A calm and sovereign nature in the tranquility of the wild
It's where we both belong when not pretending we still have our innocence, like a child

In darkest endless nights I would've stayed and love you again
But instead thanks to everything we are indeed at our end
And you may call it savage but I simply call it love
And what you call ruthless I simple call Human nature, my sweet dove

What you call violent and malicious I call necessary, beautiful
And what you call cold and distant I call protection from the inevitable
Bare teeth and prepare to do this dance again, just save face
And let's waltz once more in this dark and dreary place
