I don’t know, I’d call my son’s trash. Not gonna sugar coat that. @saragoodtimes

No, it's unusual and generally not something to celebrate. Anything which undermines trust is a problem (overspending, lying, etc)
LadyGrace · 70-79
Unfortunately, I feel it is rampant. Really out of hand. Wives or husbands, each meeting in parks with different people, to get together for sex. Then go home, thinking nothing about it. Where there's no trust, there's no relationship. I don't care who you are.
AbbeyRhode · F
No. Cheaters like to pretend everyone does it, to justify their disgusting behavior.
Magenta · F
@AbbeyRhode Good point. Projection or deflecting tactics.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
For some people it’s a lifestyle.

Not in a good relationship.
More than 90 percent of Americans believe infidelity is unacceptable, yet 30 to 40 percent of people engage in it.

I was at a conference for psychologists once. The facilitator asked the audience to put up their hands if they'd cheated once. 80% of the hands went up. Twice, about 75%. Frequently, 50%. Cheating in a relationship right now, 40%.

@saragoodtimes Not making any judgements .. just saying both sexes cheat ..
saragoodtimes · F
@Stillwaiting yes they do. I tease but have never cheated and never will on Alan
Stillwaiting · M
@saragoodtimes The way it should be.
JupiterDreams · 31-35
It wouldn't be in mine, if I had one.
I'd never cheat. And if he cheated, I'd pack his stuff and throw it out the window.

@JupiterDreams why
JupiterDreams · 31-35
@Lyndawifeandmom Because it's wrong and disrespectful to your partner. It will also cause them issues for any future relationship they might have.

Google searches would seem to indicate ~15-20+% of people surveyed admit to cheating on their spouse in a sexual relationship at some point in their marriage. Doubting everyone who has admits to it.
It's common enough.

No, it still is not accepted among most couples that I know. It happens, but not as often as some people might think. That is my experience as a counselor.
LadyGrace · 70-79
@exexec I feel it happens more than people think. These days anything goes, and it seems to be happening more and more, but that's just my humble opinion. 😊 That's because I see it running rampantly on Craigslist. Even going in the "General" section, I see nothing but it being saturated with people wanting to cheat, and no morals whatsoever, just 'Come go to bed with me. Then you go you're way and I'll go mine.' I think that's sad. And I know they are cheating because they want to keep it secret, and come right out and say their wife isn't satisfying them. Or it's couples looking for couples. Each section now is saturated with these ads.

NO! If so then one or the other person is not committed to a relationship.
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Not uncommon, but not what I’d call regular either.
MrsMiller31218 · F
I regretted that I cheated on my husband once.
I promise to him that it will not happen again. For our son’s sake.

I don't know if it's a regular thing. I think it's a lot more common now than in the past.
SW-User
I don't think that physical sexual cheating is a "regular" thing.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
I dunno what regular means. It's common but the research is bad.
