As long as everyone trusts each other, sure. It helps exponentially if:
A. There’s no romantic history with the best friend
B. The best friend and the girlfriend (or wife) are also friends
I have been friends with a man and his wife for 21 years now. She knows her husband and I are like siblings; I’m godmother to one of their children.

@MrMonnyPenny He and I originally worked together. I was an instructor at our company and he was a new salesman. And we just became friends, had lunch together. He invited me to meet his family, wife, baby daughter, brothers, sisters and parents. They had two more children, and now a grandchild. I get invited to all the birthday parties and a few times a year I go visit.

@Adamski24 pretty true. I just don’t think a healthy relationship means throwing away healthy relationships with other people, not that it’s come to that yet
