I started work at a university in London I shared an office with Jim. Jim whilst looking like a boxer was a very camp gay. I loved his humour and his company.

After a few weeks I moved to a new office with the team I was employed to run. Jim and I had regular morning coffee breaks together in a coffee shop on Euston Road. The girls who served there got to know us well, especially Jim's outrageous jokes etc.

I fell ill and was working at home for a long time. Jim still went to the shop on his own. One day Jim went in and one of the girls said "We're sorry you and your boyfriend have broken up".

Jim of course in his flamboyant way explained that I was straight as an arrow married with grown kids. He said he thought that made the girls more upset. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, it's because I was at an LGBT event and was moved by a speech and tearing up so she tapped me on my shoulder and asked me how long it's been since I knew. I'm sitting there like .. "knew what?" she assumed I was lesbian but I'm just emotional lmao
