So eHarmony offers me a 60 percent 'discount' this week on the cost of 6, 12 or 24 month membership packages, but a quick check of the fine print shows it's only for a once-off purchase and by accepting the 'discount' I have to also agree that once the 6, 12 or 24 month period is up it can be 'renewed' automatically at the full rate!
So that means a 12 month package is 'discounted' to just under A$200 then it auto-renews after that in perpetuity ever year (unless cancelled) at the full rate which is currently around $A$500 per year.
The 'regular' cost of a plan is - 6 month at A$59.90 per month, 12 month at A$39.90 per month, 24 month at A$29.90 per month. That's effing expensive!
Needless to say because the 'discount' is a once-off reduction only, I won't be taking it up.
