My wife recently debated having me baker acted for suicidal ideation.
All it really accomplished was to let me know that no matter how low i feel i cannot confide in her. All i have are you (collective) and this site.

Being Baker acted sucks, I've had it done to me, (thanks to great friends on ep) and it literally saved my life, I didn't appreciate it at the time, but know if I wasnt I wouldn't be here with two children who are my world and my husband.
I also had to baker act one of my girlfriends, sadly it didnt do any good she had stopped talking to me and ended up taking her life a few years later.

If its that bad, sometimes, you need help that your wife and the rest of us can't provide you with.

Being baker acted is my worst fear - to lose the freedom to do it if i decided to.
@Genieinabottle I understand that, but, there are times when we physically aren't able to decide what is in our own best interests.
When we are so close to suicide, we might not even care about what is best for us.
