They call when they say they will with rare exceptions. They are where they said they'd be and come home when promised. They don't keep their phone out of reach. They don't jump nervously when the phone rings or when they're on the computer and you walk
in. There aren't a lot of wrong numbers.

Probably most telling, they don't accuse you of cheating with no provocation.

I think it's much easier to know with experience. I was pretty naive at one time.

When you are with a trustworthy partner that really is the real deal, you simply know it.

Intuition... always intuition.

I was blown off for the weekend that he was supposed to visit me at school. I called him and knew the second that I heard his voice that he was cheating on me.

We've been married long enough and know each other so well, that we can look in each other's eyes and tell when one of us is hiding something.

I start by assuming that he is not. I have heard my very good friend and former lover trash every single one of his family and friends, and I would be a fool to assume that he does not do the same to me. He has betrayed me, or tried to betray me, in the past with my friends, and I know he lies about a lot of things.

The fact that I am still capable of caring about him illustrates my personal fatal flaw. But I do try to remain a bit distant.

I assume everyone lies and cheats. That gets the shittiness out of the way early on. Remember if she doesn't get a little jealous she probably doesn't care.

My husband has always been unattractive to other women.
He's 5'3", super skinny, extremely hirsute, has severe kyphoscholiosis, bandy legs, crossed eyes, snaggle teeth, severe ADD and cannot earn a living.
These days, he's also too old.

You never really know.
But if he's with you most of the time and you're what his attention is focused on and you both have respect and trust it's more evident. You also feel the persons energy.

u can't always tell..some lead double lives right under ur nose, but mostly u can tell when someone is open.and honest.

You can't. But I've found in my experience that I could usually feel it when it was happening.

Trust your intuition but at the same time, don't let your thoughts make you paranoid.

Generally, you have to give a little "benefit of the doubt" - something that I note, seems to be missing among younger generations in this day and age.

If your not confident that your so is being loyal without being scared.... That's a red flag in itself

You can never know for sure.
