If your "friend" decides she just HAS to try it, do an online virtual meeting style date first. It seems that they are safe, and she would not have to spend any money.
If your "friend" decides to date in person, tell her to always tell someone where she is going and with whom, and if possible, to send them a photo of her date.
If your "friend" goes on an online date in person, tell her to meet in a very public location, during the day when there are people around, and tell her to bring her own car, and NEVER get into the date's car.
Tell your "friend" to keep an eagle eye out for "red flags" on a dinner date...such as the date insisting he has to share dessert with her and then insisting on ordering what he wants...not what she wants.
Tell your "friend" NEVER to go back to her place or his place until she has known the new person for a very long time.
