If it does, the people probably weren't mature enough to get married. Marriage is simply applying a set of legal rules to your relationship. I generally don't believe it's a good idea these days, but it isn't going to ruin relationships that wouldn't have fallen apart over time otherwise.

Marriage isn’t a nightmare where once rings are exchanged and paperwork signed, suddenly the people transform into beastly creatures like out of some horror movie. Marriage also isn’t a fairytale where because there was a fancy party or promises etc life will now eternally be perfection and never have another worry or problem. The combination of people, their experiences and how they work or don’t work are responsible for positive bonds or negative.
