Do you think getting a girlfriend is okay, even if you know that you both won't be together forever?

If you both understand that and are ok with that, then there's nothing wrong with it.

The problems come when one wants something different or has different expectations than the other. :/

The only exception I can think of is when one doesn’t yet know what they want. They should just refrain from making promises they know they won’t keep. @Ksmile14
