If your marriage or relationship fell apart, would you have somewhere to go?

I was actually surprised to hear how many don’t. Another reason to consider myself lucky I suppose.

I would but I also have made sure to make financial decisions so I would be able to be financially independent if that was ever a need again.

@VodkaBec my father raised us that even if we found a perfect partner with a wonderful career, their length of life wasn’t guaranteed. My birth mother passed away just a month after I came to be. In fact my loving husband now.. his father died when he was 12 leaving his mother to struggle as she never bothered to acquire any skills to support herself or her kids. My husband ended up working at 14 then being the full time bread winner at 16. I really don’t want to even think I could ever lose my partner but it’s more possible than people like to picture. I wanted to always know I could take care of myself no matter what.
