It can be wonderful...is for me.

TexChik · F
Mine is wonderful... but only because we both work hard to make it that way ... every day 😁

I think it is a beautiful thing. I have a partner who I love, and he adores and loves me with everything in him. I can not wait to marry him when we are ready. We already know we are going to marry one another. We talk about it almost every other day lol. I have always loved and valued marriage. Although I am not apart of any organized religion ( My boyfriend and I believe that we mold and shape our spirituality and own personal religions as we grow and experience life). I still love marriage, and the forever connection it forges. I have only ever been with him and I only ever want to be with him. So, if you feel that way about somebody, why not get married?

I am not a good judge. I know so many people who are intelligent and wise, and they live with the loves of their lives, who treat them kindly and well.

Their lives may not be perfect, and no life is perfect...but many of them are so blessed...with children and grandchildren...and with all the love that brings.

I really think that living with someone you love is an awesome goal...but you must choose VERY wisely...and if you are foolish, immature, and not even a bit wise, as I was, you should not marry.
TexChik · F
@4meAndyou yes that’s one decision will dictate your happiness or misery for the rest of your life .

As a concept to have a good family unit to raise children and make filing taxes easier... it's ok.

The rest is shit.

I'd never get married again, and if I had it to do over I wouldn't have in the first place. I hate constantly compromising and being responsible for someone else. Never being alone it sucks. But it's a personal choice and some people love being married. I think I'm to independent and selfish.

I believe in marriage. I love my husband but I won't lie sometimes sometimes Im often very frustrated and tired because we are so different and I work very hard and he doesn't like to get a job or go to school because he has anxiety. He is also not romantic at all. Early on we said that we don't believe in gifts therefore Ive only received one gift from him ever in 6 years of marriage and I paid for half of it. Basically you need to choose who you marry very very very carefully because it will affect your life in many ways. You can be happy or miserable.
eMortal · M
@REMsleep That sucks and it's unfair to you. Being active is actually the best remedy to his anxiety!
BlueRain · F
@REMsleep Very true. If we knew then what we know now.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@BlueRain Yes, Im starting to day dream about the little things. Im watching some dumb reality show where people get married after only a few weeks and one of the guys on that show was saying how he worked so hard in his life to prepare to have a family and a wife. I couldn't believe it and was just thinking that if I could get 1/4 of that I would be so happy.

I have a wonderful marriage. I couldn't ask for anything more. We don't have to try too hard, we are very compatible.
Synyster · 51-55, M
I married once and it didn't work out, so that's it. I'll just live with someone.
JohnOinger · 41-45, M

@SW-User You should marry a Clown professor. 🤡
SW-User
@CrustyDDingus idk if that’s a fictional character but I couldn’t imagine not being with a funny person anyway 🤔
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@SW-User You're not marrying a clown.

If he didnt need a visa to stay here, we would have lived together and lamented quite happily without a bit of paper 🤷‍♀️

Not For Me but It Works For People Who Need Someone To Love in Their Life & To Share it With
The only person I'd consider marrying now is my imaginary gf 😜
Poppies · 61-69, F
I’ve done it for 40 years now. It’s sometimes maddening but it works.
Happily married for 32 years already
