Personally I think if you ask her on a fun date then have a fun date. Arrange to meet to talk about something bothering you if something is bothering you and you want to talk to her about it.
That way she knows you can have fun even though you also have problems. And also shows you don't hide the problems but create boundaries and times when you talk or think about them.
But everyone is different so you also need to go by what sort of person she is 🤷
