What's your thoughts on a grown man 40something

still playing women, not wanting to get married, lying to women by telling them he loves them, and making them fall in love with him by being charming. Once they fall in love with him, then he breaks it off with them. And he does this over and over again.

I would say he is extremely insecure and feels the need to be loved, but at the same time doesn't think he deserves love, he is likely extremely depressed. Now does that mean I condone his actions? No I do not but I understand what is likely making him tick and I think he is in need of some serious help. I would also fear that if he does not get what he wants he could become dangerous.
