@plungesponge i think polygyny is great but alot of ppl get upset about the subject.

I guess we can conclude that monogamy may work for some, but polygyny can work for others.

There's a strong darwinian argument that polygyny is what improved the human species lol, because men are nature's little mutant experiments. We can see that on the IQ scale, where both smartest and dumbest people are men, while women occupy a much tighter cluster around the normal. In polygyny the women select the males with the most successful genetic mutations, but in monogamy this is less of an option.

Polygyny has been the norm for the human species throughout it's existence, and it's a natural instinct, it's why women like to marry up financially, while men only look for fertility.

Haha it's quite likely the current mode of dating will not survive another 100 years. It's not working out for the fertility of cultures that want to survive.

Having said that polygyny is a brutal system for males that don't make the grade, so it's unlikely that will be the replacement. I suspect it'll be some new form where robots are used for sexual gratification while governments use taxes to promote the idea that responsible citizens procreate
