Why.... just why?

Why is it that whenever I actually am able to meet people online they all immediately start asking me personal questions. Where are you from? How old are you? When is your birthday? Like why not just come out with it and just ask what my friggin’ SS# is? Why can’t we just have a normal conversation and talk about normal stuff?!?!?!?!?

Just out of curiosity could you give me a couple of examples of what you consider normal stuff? You don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable but I'm really struggling for what to say.

@ThePerfectUsername like interests and hobbies and stuff like that kind of more get to know them as who they they are and it like where do you live, when’s your birthday, what’s your phone number, again maybe I just don’t like those questions it makes it sound like you’re filling out an application for something not actually getting to know the person.

Maybe the social skills of the people you've come across so far aren't quite as mature as yours. It does seem a little shallow to ask trivial things now that I think about it but the digital age (smilies, filters, god knows what) has produced lots of youngsters who yearn for a close connection with someone but who aren't very adept at making one. @DRtist102
