Yes to both. I have done it.

trackman11 · 61-69, M
Just hypothetical for me. I might with the right person. However, after traveling through almost 40 years with someone my age, I see so many benefits to always being in the same stage of life. We understand each other and empathy is easier when we share life’s age related challenges at the same time. Obviously others have found advantages in a bigger age gap, just know I’m happy it worked out the way it did.
lilangel · 26-30, F
I thought about this too. Such a great reply 🖤@trackman11
trackman11 · 61-69, M
@lilangel Sorry for sticking my nose in, but not sorry enough to stop. 🙂. When you find the young man that is worthy of being by your side for the entire adventure of life, don’t measure looks and age or expect perfection, measure his soul and when content with that you have a keeper.
Faust76 · 46-50, M
Do we hafta date for exactly 10 years?

It definitely depends on the starting age, next to the person of course. There's that half your age plus seven rule for men, which means that allegedly it becomes socially acceptable when one person hits 34. Certainly in the 40's I don't think that kind of age difference would hardly matter.

What most people don't realize is when it was originally coined in some old movie, that was intended as the *highest* acceptable age for the woman. Obviously, that's no longer of this day and age, but that illustrates how subjective it is. And somehow, few people seem to put a word edgeways when it's a celebrity or otherwise thought rich person.

18 and 28 I say no, but I don't see an issue later if both people are in roughly similar life-stage, or if it's this so-called "true love".
4meAndyou · F
I did. I was seventeen when my high school photographer lifted my phone number from my senior proofs and called me, asking for a date. I don't think children should ever date adults when they don't have enough life experience to make good judgements.
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
Since when does age matter? If you have mutual interests then why not?
Reject · 26-30, M
Sure! Older preferably. I don’t get along with kids that well. Not like that anyways.
1pebbles · 56-60, F
One affair, lasted 14 years, he was 32 years my senior....

thetucker · 61-69, M
Yes, I would and I have, both older and younger. Always had a great time. Too many people are hung up on age. Maturity not age. If you get a long, go for it.
polyandrym66 · 70-79, M
@thetucker Well put, and congratulations for your past actions..
bassman09uk · 51-55, M
If I was single, I would date a person because I liked them, and we have things in common. Age would be irrelevant (as long as they are an adult)
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
I won't talk about younger as I'm 20 years old lol. As of older, I don't say I would never do it but it just doesn't seem likely to happen.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I married somebody 10 1/2 years older. In order for it to be successful you have to have a lot in common or it’s doomed.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
Yes and have. Both older and younger. Age doesn’t mean all that much in my opinion.
polyandrym66 · 70-79, M
@luckranger71 BRAVO.. Actions speak louder and truer than words..

Of course, I have always only dated younger girls.
My wife is fifteen years younger than me and our girlfriend is five years younger than her.
Viper · M
Yeah, I'd be willing too... though it comes with some troubles of the two of you being in different places in your lives.
midnightsun · 26-30, M
10 years younger is 14 years old so I can't date em.

And, I'd rather date a shitty 20 something hot girl than date a 34+ woman.
grayhalo · 41-45, M
Well, now that 10 younger means someone in their 30s I'm good with it. 10 older isn't an issue either.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
I dated some women ten years older, but never 10 years younger. I was a bit of an old soul at a young age.
Barny52 · 56-60, M
would be good t date a girl 40 yrs younger ,,,she would still be out of her teens xxx
QuietEd2019 · 31-35, M
@Barny52 even oldest 15 would not be legal in many countries
Rokasu · 36-40, M
Not younger, no. And I’m not sure someone that much older would want to date me either.
LookingForIt987 · 51-55, M
Sure, don't see any reason not to. Depending on the person themselves, of course.
SW-User
It could be either my cousin's age or my uncle's so no. Lols
SW-User
As long as they're an adult and it's legal, I have no problem with it.
