Do we hafta date for exactly 10 years?

It definitely depends on the starting age, next to the person of course. There's that half your age plus seven rule for men, which means that allegedly it becomes socially acceptable when one person hits 34. Certainly in the 40's I don't think that kind of age difference would hardly matter.

What most people don't realize is when it was originally coined in some old movie, that was intended as the *highest* acceptable age for the woman. Obviously, that's no longer of this day and age, but that illustrates how subjective it is. And somehow, few people seem to put a word edgeways when it's a celebrity or otherwise thought rich person.

18 and 28 I say no, but I don't see an issue later if both people are in roughly similar life-stage, or if it's this so-called "true love".
