I once had a crush on an online friend. He lived in the UK. We corresponded for over a year, and suddenly he began to reveal his true self. He thought Hitler was a great man and a hero, and thought that Jesus could not possibly be a Jew.

Did I know all of that when I was head over heels with admiration for him and my special brand of puppy love? No. And it's even worse, sometimes, when you meet people in RL. People hide their true selves when they only communicate online, and it is impossible for real love to flourish when the truth is hidden.

Do you mean male catfishes or female? Many of the men here seem to be tricking the women into all manner of things - mostly to obtain nude photos. A lot of men sign on to SW and fabricate ridiculous tales to trap the women here. In fact, there is one man here of 'unique status' who has been duping SW women for quite some time.

I think it’s as possible as anywhere else. There are always obstacles and challenges. If you met someone here you may be privy to the dreams and philosophies you wouldn’t have discovered for months in person, but you might not know they can’t eat until they sort their food by color, something you could have learned on the first date doing things the old fashioned way. If people are right and the time is right, I don’t think it matters what the obstacles are.

No. You will love the idea of the person. Relationships require the physical components and that only happens by meeting in real life

I've found some truly beautiful souls to connect with but I wasn't looking for love.

I think love can be found online anywhere if it happens between 2 people. How you interpret that love is up to the individual. Pretty much all those I care about the most online I've know 3+ years and some I have known 10+ years. Trust isn't built in 2 days or 2 weeks or even 2 months. Anything good takes time.

depends on what kind of person you are. are you okay with long distance relationships? does sex matter to you a lot or just physically connection? if you have social anxiety or are the type of person that's more introverted maybe you can find someone here to connect with that is the same as you.

Loneliness or a real connection may find u love or infatuation. But imo real love needs physical touch and compatibility in ways only possible by meeting in person.

Two of my friends here have found someone and moved/had their partner move internationally to be with them long-term, so yeah. You can. But it's risky and highly unlikely.
