What would you do if you found out the person you've been recently dating for a while now

Had a terrible illness that only gave them a couple months left to live from then on? And you think they are really awesome person and like them quite a lot but it hasent been quite long enough for you to say they are your soulmate/love of your life or something.

Also no this isn't happening to me I'm just a weird person asking a deep ass question cause I'm bored and curious on what people think.
