How long do people usually know each other before their first date?

I met the woman who would become my wife on our first date.

It varies from girl to girl. Sometimes I'll know a girl for a few weeks before the first date, other times it'll be years. Just depends on what you both want and when you want it.

I met my wife on a blind date....we hadn’t met before that.
However, most of my exes knew me for a little while before we decided to date.
