Why don't some guys want women sititng at the wheel at drive ins?

I have this friend with a boyfriend who is paranoid about that, he doesn't want her sitting at the wheel at the drive in theater. It always has to be him sitting there.

That’s a weird thing to get hung up on. When we go to the drive-in, I back my truck into the space, and we set up lawn chairs and a sound system in the bed anyway.
