Would you think it okay for a smart person to date or marry someone dumb if they really love them?

Why does the smart person love the dumb one? Life insurance? Murder? 馃槖

@Peaceful I would assume personality
PeacefulF
@Billybob2 or easy to manipulate 馃槰
Billybob226-30, M
@Peaceful perhaps, but even the dumb ones need love
PeacefulF
@Billybob2 I will never deny that. But if you don't have someone that matches you intellectually, you get bored fast.
Billybob226-30, M
@Peaceful rich guys apparently don't
PeacefulF
@Billybob2 yeah, they marry a trophy wife and cheat. 馃
Billybob226-30, M
@Peaceful or that dude who embarrassed his wife by posting a video of her not understanding basic math
PeacefulF
@Billybob2 you're making my point. It doesn't work. That's not love. That's cruel.
Billybob226-30, M
@Peaceful It is cruel, but I'm sure there is some relationship somewhere where the smarter one treats them with respect.
PeacefulF
@Billybob2 my favorite types of relationships is where there is an ebb and flow. No one has cornered all the intelligence on this planet. That being said, if you choose someone way above your intelligence, you risk feeling insecure and controlled.
Billybob226-30, M
@Peaceful some feel more comfortable with someone else "wearing the pants" so to speak
PeacefulF
@Billybob2 they may. But most likely they are playing out childhood wounds. And that's not love. That's an attempt of unconscious healing.
Billybob226-30, M
@Peaceful Take me for example, I don't think I'm really smart enough to be making the big decisions. Small ones, yeah.
PeacefulF
@Billybob2 I think you underestimate you.
Billybob226-30, M
@Peaceful maybe, it took me I don't even know how many times throughout high school to pass one Algebra SOL though.
PeacefulF
@Billybob2 that's ok. That's not your expertise or you didn't have a teacher that was able to explain well to you. I'm certain you have other gifts and math could be one of them. I struggled with math through high school and killed it in college. Keep going.
