Would you think it okay for a smart person to date or marry someone dumb if they really love them?

All some people need from a mate is love ... others need intellectual stimulation. It would depend on the two in the relationship. What feels like love at first may be more attraction. And infatuation - which would probably not stand the test of time. It’s possible though.

Why does the smart person love the dumb one? Life insurance? Murder? 😒

Sure. I never hold an intrinsic trait against anyone. You are born with most of your intelligence. There is nothing anyone can do about it.
