What was a foolish idea you once held about dating & relationships?

As an adolescent I thought dating as I aged would be less difficult because (presumably) people know themselves better and would be more comfortable in their skin as adults. Couldn't have been more wrong...the complexity increases.

I believed that having a man who was willing to jump right in without a safety net would be exactly what I wanted.. I soon found out that actually such men didn't exist.. they were all too scared of even considering relationships.. or they were all just looking for free rides with no intention of more..

@Adaydreambeliever I did that once and that's one way to get super hurt. That's why people don't do it.
