What should someone do if they're in love with a friend's significant other?

My friend told me he's in love with one of his friend's girlfriends and he feels really guilty about it. He doesn't intend to act on it but he feels like he's a bad friend just for having feelings for her.

Teenagers fall in love easily and struggle to come out of it. An adult should be able to control his/her emotions. You can "fall", everybody does, but the logical part of your mind would analyze the circumstances and regulate your emotions if you're not thinking like a teenager.
