Boyfriend brought me an Apple Watch after 2 months for doing well at uni

My boyfriend brought me an Apple Watch after only been dating 2 months, he said he did it cos he’s proud of me for getting great grades overall at university. I told my mum and she said she’s speechless and my friends have said it’s a weird thing to do. I dont want them to think badof him for this. Thoughts?

I think you need to put your big girl pants on and make a decision for yourself. But it is only an Apple watch. It's not like he bought you a $10,000 engagement ring.
