Are you insulted by people asking when you intend to marry?

"A pretty/handsome girl/fella like you surely would be off the market by now! When's the date?"

My dad's parents used to ask me that all the time. Every time I saw them they'd say "When you going to get married?"...used to annoy the heck out of me because Most of the time I didn't even gave a girlfriend. Once I got married (both times) the question changed to when you going have kids?.🙄
😆 It's never enough!@indyjoe

@AnonymouslyYours The thing is that the question about kids came from MY parents...they wanted grandkids, and they started asking before we got through our first week. My mom practically had her grandkids lives and futures planned!😣

Actually I get annoyed when literally everyone assumes I’m married and if I say I’m not they assume it’s through choice because I must enjoy the single life or because I’m unable to commit etc. Nobody thinks it’s because I haven’t met the right person and refuse to hook up with just anyone.

When's the date?...not sure that depends when he'll ask?

Doesn’t bother me. I would probably feel attacked if I was middle aged, but I’ve got a long way until marriage...

It’s just funny to me. They seem more rushed than I am.

It never felt insulting, but it was always awkward. It’s like being asked after I got married: “when are you going to have a baby?”

No, I have a few years before that becomes a problem
People ask those questions still? 😮
No one says that anymore. Should I be insulted by that ? 😅

Why tho? marriage is just a contract for paranoid people to keep being together unless they won't involve government/lawyers
