Yes the 'experts' say it is. It is part of a series of behavior.
Usually done by emotionally immature people.
"They are emotionally unavailable. They are weak people. They are cowards who are so afraid of facing their own emotional discomfort that they can’t even think about you and how you would feel if they suddenly disappeared without explanation like that."

No. It's either just a ball-less way of dealing with something you find problematic or, if you don't really know someone, it's usually just an end to a conversation that's not really going anywhere and you don't know what else to say.

Could be, but you have to have clusters of traits that are consistent with behaviours to define a person with a personality disorder.
It's certainly callous and possibly manipulative but it depends on the context.

I think its just a cowardly trait. But a lot of narcissistic traits could also be seen as cowardly.

@SW-User Narcissists are generally cowards, unless they are the exhibitionistic kind.

It can be, if it isn't done to get away from a toxic person. But actually, when it's done for that reason, it's called no contact, and there is usually plenty of warning. When it's done suddenly, with no warning, for no good reason, then yes it is. There may be an exception when someone suddenly becomes ill, or something else happens to them.

Noo, I don't think so. If I ghost someone it's most likely because I find them toxic and don't want to tell them what I really feel because it might create drama...
