What do you all think about stay-at-home dads?

Good morning guys. A little question for you.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
My view...if the woman is happy in her career and makes enough to support and sustain the family then why shouldn't the guy stay back to take care of things on the homefront? If the couple is in total agreement and it works for them then I don't see a problem at all with it.

I totally agree with you on that. @indyjoe

Nothing bad about it, or even that unusual. If anything, I guess I applaud them for ignoring normal gender stereotypes.
I know some great ones.
I get the feeling men are looking more to women to go out and earn
while they sit at home and play computer games

If the wife had the high paying job and he didn’t ... I think it would be great

Equality working at it's best
I would LOVE to be a stay at home dad. She can go out into the corporate world, and come home to a clean house and a good, prepared meal, all the groceries bought, all the laundry done, and put her feet up for the evening.
Different strokes. Traditional gender roles sometimes make sense... and sometimes don’t. Each couple has to decide that on their own I think. 🖤

I don’t think that anything is wrong with that. But I wouldn’t want that long term. Alternating between the two (mom/dad) creates a sense of unity.

I was a stay at home dad for over eleven years. I made a big difference in the development of my three children.

Likely divorced in a few years.
ChloeLuv · 31-35, F
@hippyjoe1955 Why do you say that?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ChloeLuv Statistics indicate that the majority of women who earn more than their husbands get rid of their husbands.
Have fun with that laundry, bro. LOL
ChloeLuv · 31-35, F
@YourMomsSecretCrush Are you making fun of them?

I wouldn’t plan it that way but if fate directs it, okay.

If his partner is okay with it, I think it’s fine. Someone in the family needs to be the breadwinner though.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
I imagine I'll be one someday. I'm disabled, so it will just work out better that way. :)
I bet they have a great relationship with their kids.
