Does real love really exist?

I've been wondering... If I really love a person, I would only want the best for them, right? So, if they tell me that they found someone new who is better for them than I am, I should be absolutely happy for them as I would only want the best. Truth is, I would be absolutely heartbroken and NOT happy for them. Did I really love that person then? Or did I love a potential and only became attached?

yes love really exists , when the Apostle Paul was asked what is love ? , he thought about for a second but also realized it easier to tell people what love wasn't , ha ha an easier way out i guess
Yeah. I don't know which bible verse that is. But a negative definition is not a definition.

suiting the times i think , people needed to know the difference as love comes in many forms , shades and expressions , like the love for a Pet Cat may not be exactly the same as the love for your child although some view that with no difference so there are also many levels of love , there is also Spiritual love the may transcend physical love
