Is cheating the same as lying?

indyjoe · 56-60, M
Unless you're doing it right out in the open where everyone (including your SO) knows it, then yes it is.
pedrohedgerow · 61-69, M
There is a difference, but the two are equally repugnant.

Of course, it falls under the same 'deception' umbrella to me. Especially if it is in secret and against someone you made vows to.

Essentially yes. Lying, cheating, and stealing are three things I do not tolerate in my life and in my immediate circle of friends. Imma a big girl ... tell me the truth and we can move on. Lie to me and you are dead to me.

I just read through the comments and it seems everyone is treating the "cheating" side of the question as if it were referring to cheating in a relationship. That's one kind of cheating. Cheating on tests is another. There are many kinds of cheating in life and all are repugnant.
