Why am I more nervous to meet my boyfriend's work friends than meeting his parents?

I just meet his parents last night and I was slightly nervous, but tomorrow I'm going with him to a work party where I'll meet his work friends/co-workers and I'm already 10x more nervous for that than I was when I met his parents last night. I don't know why. I'm already freaking out a little bit about it.

I guess parents are easier because they’re older and they gonna make you feel welcome..meeting contemporaries is always harder work to fit in. I’m sure it will go well and you’ll have fun!❤️

@SW-User I mean his co-workers/friends are all older than me too but I guess I feel like most parents might be less judgemental compared to friends or at least parents usually don't say anything unless there's a reason while friends are more upfront about not liking someone. Or maybe it's because he only has two parents and he has multiple work friends which makes it more intimidating. I don't know. Hopefully it will go well. Thank you.
