Why is it so difficult for insecure people to express affection towards the people they love?

Some people don’t like to hear nice things because it makes them feel uncomfortable so they don’t say it to others. I had an ex who would never say anything about the way I looked that’s because it’s not something he’d want to hear himself.

Erm..... because they’re insecure. 🤔

Because they are afraid.

Wish I knew the answer... I ask the same question even at an older age now
