Is it nonsensical to be bothered by your heterosexual partner's homophobia?

Even though this person's bias doesn't directly impact your lives, should the lack of tolerance trouble you?

I have a very annoying friend who is homophobic, but it doesn't impact me because I already know he is annoying and embarrassing.

The ex was homophobic, and so worried that his manhood would be questioned that he refused to go to the Transvestite shows in Provincetown with me...yet he was fascinated by Jean Claude Van Damme and prison movies. 😵
I've just found this so bothersome...this notion that as long as you're not bashing someone in the street, you can be quietly disgusted and it should be accepted by your partner because by and large, homosexuality's considered abominable.@4meAndyou

@AnonymouslyYours It's not easy dealing with people who haven't evolved...or learned...people who can't feel, or who are too afraid.
Yes! I haven't wanted to express this to him, but the idea that one could be disgusted by what someone else does or is (that isn't harmful to others) just seems primitive. How could you take pleasure in the demise of someone else just because they're different?@4meAndyou

@AnonymouslyYours Hmm. Well, I could take pleasure in the demise of a pedophile...but that's about it.
