Know the feeling man. I find in that situation it's best to be busier and focus on it less. Sometimes she'll just message me and be like "Hey!!! Where r u" when I'm at work or doing a side project. Much as I love playing with her, I can't always be there.
As for the other guy, he sounds a little above your pay grade. He shows up or she brings him up, then fine. If neither one happens, he doesn't exist. Let her deal with him. She might appreciate you more for it actually.
