@Gangstress i politely stayed then said i wasn't feeling well and he took me home. I told him that was weird for me mainly because he didn't talk really the whole time. We just sat there awkwardly. We never went after that but from what I've been told he's happily married now and so am i for the most part.

In high school, I finally got up the nerve to ask this girl out that I really liked, and she said yes. I showed up at her house and met her parents, who seemed to like me. (Girls always told me their parents liked me, because I'd actually look them in the eye and talk to them unlike other guys.). So, she and I leave for our dinner/movie date, and as we're driving, she asks me to pull the car over. She then explains how she just needed me to get her out of the house, because her parents hated this other (and older) guy and had told her they didn't want her to see him again. She thanks me, jumps out of the car, and takes off leaving me sitting there a little shell shocked. Yeah, that was an awkward date.

@SW-User it was so so so awkward. I could literally feel my skin crawling. Don't get me wrong. Im a mother myself i know how beautiful birth is and bring a life into this world is. However never should anyone ever think this is a good idea for a first , second , third or any kind of date.

I took this girl out when I was 20. I was super awkward in general back then. So we went to a super expensive restaurant. She told me later that McDonald's would have been just fine. I fucked the whole evening up. Not because of the restaurant but because I acted like a bumbling idiot. The most cringeworthy part was me making out with her in my car. I climbed over the seat and sat on her lap. Usually it is the other way around. I have tried to erase this memory.
Side note. I had this other girlfriend (different timeframe) she had a Rav4. I was driving. We decided to have sex while driving. Super rural area. She was fucking me and I drove down a hill, saw a stop sign and hit the brakes. Sent the back of her head right into the windshield. That one was actually kind of funny. Needless to say we never did that again.

@LesserUgly ohhh my goodness. This is actually cute though a girl can tell when a guy is trying really hard to impress her even if in his mind everything isn't going according to plan. Im sure she walked away at worst thinking you were a clumsy sweetheart. Which is awesome compared to what we usually deal with.
@Dr3am oh. That first story, we actually dated for a little while longer. The breakup wound up being mutual because I moved several states away.
I'm still pretty young, retired now at 33, had a ton of different jobs. Been all around the world working for various things and people. In Japan I had this girlfriend. Her name isn't super important. I just remember coming back from a deployment and we had dinner at a nice little restaurant. I knew it was basically over because she was staring at her tablet the whole time.
I dated a Karen Refugee from Burma once. She was awkward. I've definitely gotten over that phase. I wouldn't say I'm mature at all. I do fucked up things for a living, but somehow it has changed how I interact with people IRL. I focus more on my work and nothing phases me anymore.
